New harness regs for HNRS

I was targeted at Rd1 a week or so ago.

One of the issues they picked up on was that my shoulder straps were horizontal from my shoulder to the harness bar. Up to now that was acceptable, but not any more.

The shoulder straps now have to have an angle below 0 degrees, that is they must slope down from the driver's shoulder as per page 77 of the CAMS manual. That diagram actually gives a range of 0-10 degrees as desirable, 10-45 degrees acceptable, but apparently 0 degrees is not acceptable.

This has just been promulgated, so watch out for it at your next targeted scrutiny.

Does this mean your shoulders have to be higher? Sit on a cushion?

Further down the page it says the ideal is perpendicular to the 'upper spine'.
