CAMS SURVEY - HAVE YOUR SAY!

CAMS are conducting a survey.

The Australian Motor Racing Commission (AMRC) is in the process of carrying out a strategic review of circuit motor racing in Australia.
The aim of this is to establish a strategic plan that will enable the sport to grow and prosper. The plan will enable the sports administrators, investors, promoters and Government to make decisions in a coordinated way with surety.

So if you care about circuit racing, either as a competitor, official or spectator - have your say. If you think there is already enough focus on National events and the top end such as the V8s - then get on there and tell them TO PUT MORE EFFORT AND MONEY INTO THE GRASSROOTS, club and amateur events.

These things have been done many times in the past to zero effect. In the past I have spent many days in meetings to discuss the issues of amateur motor sport, and all that ever results is an organizational review (reshuffled deck chairs on the Titanic) or a new IT system. Nobody will act on any recommendations unless it helps the bottom line. Sorry, I won't waste my time anymore with CAMS.

That's a pretty poor attitude. It's also the attitude that makes such surveys fail.
If you don't get involved, how can they have any chance to improve it.
Sitting there complaining on the internet isn't going to fix anything.

After 20 odd years of being heavily involved Beavis, that's enough. I was a CAMS commissioner, race organizer, club President etc etc. The organization is fundamentally broken, sorry.

Sorry to be so negative, but I hate seeing people waste time with these things. By all means have your say and get involved. Maybe you can fix the problems from within, but I couldn't.
