Queensland Alignment - who do you use?

Postby The American » Tue Oct 07, 2014 2:43 pm

Hi Queenslanders,

Who do you use for wheel alignment set up in QLD? Are there any preferred shops that see a few Mx5s and track focused cars?

Cheers!

I have used Tyres & More (Action Tyres) on the Gold Coast with no issues. They will align it with you in the car plus they do corner balancing and car set ups. They also have their own race team.

Recently I used Pedders at Ipswich and they will do an alignment to your specs and allow you to remain in the car. They even bring you coffee, that was dropped off for you by your partner whilst you are on the hoist :) The person who did mine was very knowledgeable and let me know of the problem with my caster adjustment. Was more than happy to discuss my chosen alignment and discuss why I wanted it, he agreed with my settings and logic.

Automotive Plus whilst they send cars out for alignment (so I'm not sure who does them) also do a very good job. In fact mine will be there soon having the front LCA's replaced and then aligned.

Automotive Plus use netatyres.com.au.

Had the last alignment done there and very happy with the work. They also offer discounts for setting up track alignments and returning to street tune after the track day.

Leda Suspension Brendale, Bruce

I think he's done 1 or 2 MX5s, mine, Ash Millers, Crewmans, Zero, Gerard, and probably 90% of the PSCRAQ MX's.

Old style machine, takes his time and does the alignment to suit what your suspension will work with.

Also sets up most IPRA cars around. Go in a have a chat, he likes a chat, and if your lucky you'll get to see lots of really cool sh*t.

Another vote for Bruce at Leda. He's been aligning wheels of race cars for well over 40 years and certainly knows what he's doing, and which alignment setup to use for which track  He's done all of my cars over the years, including corner weighting my MX5's.

Well, my car spent the day today with Bruce at Leda Suspension. Generous with his time and knowledge. I'll definitely be back to see him again!
