Car Prep

Curious what the common approach is for track marshal access to the car's boot at sprint events. Is there a perceived need to be able to get into the boot quickly as the battery is back there (even with an isolator switch mounted)?

Mine is an early NA without a remote release, so is a spare key left in the lock (which could get broken off in an incident) OK? something more advanced? not something anyone worries about?

Thanks.

Nothing is really enforced by the scrutineers but a lot of drivers put a key in the boot lock and keep it there with a bit of cord going back into the boot.

The story is that if they can't open the boot with a handle, or a key, the instrument of choice is an axe.

Mind you, if things are that desperate, that will be the least of your worries

So, yes, I have a key on a piece of cord looped around a convenient something to stop it being lost - the key is in the lock, the cord looped back into the boot.

OK thanks :)

The key was what I was planning. First event next week hopefully (on wait list) :D, so the forecast will no doubt be thunderstorms and torrential rain....
