I am getting my NC back form haivng the cage put in tomorrow, very exciting!!
( will post some pics of the build soon)
Just finalising the items I need for cams requirements, almost there, just have a few questions for those currently racing.
I have goneover the regs, but have seen / heard things form folks that either they dont have fitted and seem to care about or that may have been done, but may not be necessary.
1. Tail shaft loop - yes/no
2. Window net
3. Wiring up the sump plug
4. Stamp to say fire extinguisher has been serviced ( if over 2 years old)
not sure how strict scrutineers are on these, but dont want to turn up to a race only to be turned away.

OK, best to leave it to the Queenslanders to answer the specific questions then. I assume you've read the CAMS online manual for the General Requirements for Vehicles and the 2F regulations? Each event you enter will have its own set of regs and supplementary regs as well.

Yes, I have read it,
I am just seeing what people actually apply to their cars.
Got most things sorted.

1. yes
2. with hartop, I believe yes, open top no
3. should as it's a good idea not to have oil fall onto the track
4. if it says that in the regs then yes, however for CAMS racing events, not sure on speed events, a fire extinguisher in the vehicle is no longer required, for AASA events you would have to check. In any case it is always worth getting the fire extinguisher serviced at the required time, if not replaced if that is cheaper, as the powder will settle and become a solid lump, unless you turn over the extinguisher in your hands to feel the powder moving every couple of months to make sure the powder is still ppowder so when you use the extinguisher you will not get plenty of nothing to put the fire out.

Thanks for the advice Matt,
Would probably just do everything.
Car is a hardtop, so yes will get a window net.
Getting excited as the car is nearing completion!

Hi ansellpa Give the CAMS office in Brisbane and get a list of the "pre log book scrutineers" and give one of them a ring. If you live in Brisbane give Dave Wood a ring on 0418197608. I worked for Dave at Indy Cars where he was Chief Scrutineer.Dave was also Qld CAMS 2011 official of the year. If you ring Dave you can tell him i gave you the number. Regards Bob Quinlan
