Car Trailers, small enough for a garage?

Postby Dweezle » Wed Nov 28, 2012 1:35 pm

Hi Guys

I am seriously thinking about just making my NA a track only car.
The main issue i face is that i have to live and work in Sydney and a house is just too expensive.
I am in a apartment that has a tandem garage.
ie- One car in front of the other.

It is quite long. I can fit 2 mx5s, motorbike and engine stand etc all lined up.

I would think i could fit a small car trailer, like the one MX5 PLUS have been working on in the garage width wise.

Image

Obviously i would need to measure etc.

The issue i believe i will face is the length of the trailer.
The section that attaches to the TOW vehicle i think would need to be removable as i would still need to fit the other MX5 in.

Has anyone had the same issue and been able to work something out?
Would love to hear from you!!! :D

The mx5 plus one does feature a detachable tow frame and front casters..... If you weren't already aware.

Move out of Sydney like I did haha
I keep mine on front lawn chained to one of my trees.
Is there anyone relo's you can leave it at?
There are places you can leave it at such as a kennards storage.

What's your tow car?
Looking for an SVT motor for this:

Maybe a group buy on the MX5 Plus trailer to convince them to produce!

Hi guys, earlier this year an initial batch (30) of trailers in kit form were manufactured by Automotive Plus' parent company for Loadsafe Australia Pty Ltd (design owner). However, they have not been released to the market as yet.

The product will be retailed and supported by Loadsafe Australia Pty Ltd http://www.loadsafe.com.

I don't know when they will be ready for sale or how much they will cost. Please direct all enquiries to richard@loadsafe.com or phone (07) 3851 1066.

Regards,
Danny

I wish i could.
The lady likes to be close to work etc and seeing how i sometimes only work once or twice a week and she 5-6 days i guess i can not argue!! haha

Relos would be a good idea but the lil bro lives with us and mum is down south, Jervis Bay area.
I have thought about leaving the car and trailer down there and doing the bit of a crazy trip down each time to pick it up.
Would give me more of a excuse to head down and see her more often but not really very clever :D

I will look into storage but i imagine that could be quite costly.

Tow car is yet to be bought, but we have been looking at just the usual post 2000 Falcon wagon etc.
Decided before the tow car is bought i need to lock in where the car is kept and how.

I am happy for the car to be on the trailer all the time in the garage but it just needs to allow the lil bros mx5 to still fit.
This might be asking too much.

Danny, thanks for the heads up about the trailers.

That video shows getting the car on and off would be a simple task.
Very clever.

I will send an email as it appears to be almost perfect depending on width and cost.

If you want to check out trailers made by guys who are into motorsport themselves, and hence have designed product which works and tested it out (small plug for a buddy but it happens to be true :D )
