NC sparco sprint seat

Postby deanb90 » Wed Feb 08, 2012 6:38 pm

I want to put a sparco sprint as my drivers seat in my NC.

I believe there is some sensors connected to the standard seat.

If i install the sparco seat will everything still work as it should if i install the seat properly?

Cheers

You will get a permanent airbag light, can be fixed by cheating the sensor with a resistor.

Not sure. If the light is on I believe it will not but if the sensor has been tricked...no idea. I am guessing fooling the sensor makes it think someone is sitting there so it will work. just a guess though.

Not sure - do NCs have side airbags in the seats? If so, fitting a replacement seat without airbags fitted would probably be illegal for road use.

Well i can forget about the sparco then, not worth it.

New cars are really starting to sh*t me with all these electronics, such a pain to modify. I must be getting old :|

I've got a Sparco EVO 2+ in mine. Yes, you lose the side Air Bag and that's always a gamble in the case of driver's side intrusion. I have a funny feeling that it's probably a defectable offence as you're not allowed to disable an air bag, I seem to remember Guran commenting on this some time ago as well as above.

I've never been pulled up yet (caveat - I'm in my late 40's so not quite seen as the young hoon by the Bronze), The seat is a pain in the ass to get in and out of but once you're in - you're not going anywhere. The warning light can be fixed by a 2ohm resister or a piece of well placed race tape....

Worst case scenario, it's 5 bolts, ten minutes and one connector to replace on race day.
