Was just reading my PDS with Just Car and noted they don't cover damaged caused whilst on the track.
Does anyone know of any insurers that do cover such event?

If you take your car to the track, you need to be prepared to pay to fix it if things go pear-shaped. Trackday insurance is VERY expensive. It is not worth the risk of serious gaol-time if you try and stiff your comprehensive insurer.

You make sure no one has photos.
Tow it home, get it drivable, wait for a stormy night, then 'accidentally' whack a wall/barrier, because of the weather.

I haven't had anything happen and generally don't push the limits on the track.
This was more a curious question as to whether said cover was available.

Some insurance companies will cover you as long as the track day is "driver training"
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

the best thing to do is when you have a day coming up - call your insurer. they'll do 1 of two things.
tell you no straight away
or
request details of the day in writing so they can assess it then.
Dann - thats why everyone elses premiums are expensive cause of fraudulent claims!!

That is what the driver of the porker did (sort of), after his gf put it into the fence one wet Wakefield club trackday. He was last heard of helping the police with their inquiries in relation to a charge of insurance fraud ... Idiot.

I was joking fellas.
Theres a reason my car stays rough, so I dont become too attached.
Also, I couldnt comprehensively insure my car because I dont want to whack something and then have some prick tow it away and auction it and give me 6 grand in return.

My race car has got insurance of a sort against it from Shannons. It is covered at home, while it is on the trailer being transported and it is also covered at the circuit.
There is a couple of catches though. The car is not covered when it is on track, only in the paddock area. It is only covered when it is NOT under power and it is only covered if it is secure.
Tools and spare parts ARE covered.
The only really useful cover I get is against loss at or from my home or while it is being transported. The cover in the paddock is not worth the paper it is printed on as there are so many conditions that if I were to meet them there would not be a claim in the first place as the car would be under lock and key and not moving
My trailer is also insured. Car and trailer together is something like $300 / year.
Track day (note not racing or any sort of timed event) insurance is a big thing in the UK. Single day cover is not very expensive at all.
Even with insurance you likely still stand to be at a loss. You just have to accept that if you are going on track there is a chance something could happen leaving you with a broken car, you either pay to fix it or take the hit and walk away.
My other insurance is making sure I have an appropriate level of medical cover and personal insurance cover. Note that you should take out personal insurance BEFORE you start racing as it will be a heavy premium if you take out the insurance after.

where it talks about track cover and racing extention in whats excluded/not covered page 37. Mind you they'll always lodge a claim for consideration.

But that was only for 2 years or so, when i was 17......
