MX5 Challenge at Shannons Nationals - WITH TV!!
MX5 Challenge NSW has been invited to be part of the Shannon’s Nationals series to be held at Wakefield Park on March 6th & 7th.
Competing at the season opener will be Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship, Commodore Cup, Sports Sedans, Future Racers and OzDrift GP.
Cost of the entry is $275 and includes 20 minutes qualifying on Saturday and 2 x 8 lap races. Sunday will consist of 3 x 10 lap races.
Additionally Simone has managed to negotiate 10 minutes of TV time for MX5 Challenge and this will be part of the usual 1hr Shannons series as shown on Speedweek and Pay TV.
We have about 16 entries from NSW competing. As this will be at Wakefield Park where the MX5 Nationals will be held in October, it might be a good chance for others to do some laps at this circuit.
If you want to enter please email simone@mx5mania.com.au and we will forward an entry form with payment details. The National series charge per category and we need to do a one of payment direct to Shannons Nationals so all payments need to be send back to us ASAP.
We apologise for the lateness in letting you know however this deal was only just finalised.
If there is anyone else you think might be interested please let them know.

Credit must go to Simone from MX5 Mania who has done a massive amount of work to get this off the ground in just a couple of weeks.
Will be a great turn out and really looking forward to it.
See you at Bathurst, if not before

Huge...
Qualified 2nd. 1.06.7
Finished 2 and 3rd and 2 4ths...
Green machine was flying...had some great races with Shane Otten and matilda and CT...
I chickened out in the last wet race...5 year old half worn semi slicks are a bit too scary for wet driving, I'm too old for that.
Thanks Simone and the MX5 Mania crew for a fantastic weekend.

I was watching all weekend on Natsoft.
Well done to Matilda, CT and Lou looked close up the front.
Front 3-4 were flying.
Looking forward to the TV coverage, do you know when it will be shown?
Neil

You can catch all of the action from Wakefield Park on SBS Speedweek next Sunday, March 14 at 1:00pm, check your local television guides for broadcast details.
As it turned out it was being streamed live on the internet..... We weren't aware of this until Sunday.
Should be some good footage as we had all sorts of conditions, from rain on Friday to a fairly warm Saturday and overcast Sunday. By mid afternoon the showers began and the track was very, very slippery. I loved the last race and trying to stay ahead of David in the conditions was testing to say the least
Great driving by everyone and some cracker dices going on across the field.
A write up of the full event can be found here -
