Fire Extinguisher bracket for NB8C

Chaps,

Since the harness is done, I now need a nice fire extinguisher bracket to suit my SE, where is the best place to source one? Preferable sitting in front of the passenger seat, but open to suggestions?

Dino.

go to bunnings and buy a sheet of alloy checker plate and an aproved extinguisher.

very easy to make. i made one for my self and a couple of friends. just a rectangle with two of the corners chopped off and afew holes in it for pop rivets and for the seat mount bolts to go through.

the biggest drama is getting longer bolts for your seat ad the exrat width of the plate makes the seat bolts in my opinion not engage as far as id like. i bought some replacement bolts that were afew mm longer and of a 8.8tensile fairly cheap... not carried by bunnings or most other hardware stores. i got mine from an industrial supplier we use at work GRQ in wingdang.

i post up some pics if you like. havent got a template anymore unfortunatly.

here is mine, but it's infront of the passenger seat, drivers side would be just as easy.
I just used some cardboard to make a template, 3mm aluminuium, cut to size, drill some holes, rivets for the bracket and wala
(also some wrinkle paint used)

The VIC MX-5 Club sell brackets and longer seat bolts for $40 or so. Works perfectly and I covered mine in felt so you hardly notice the bracket against the carpet.

could go the cheaper one but can only drive on certain tracks but then you dont need to be member of a club....

was thinking of getting one from the club but they are friggin heavy man im sure if you fab your own it can be lighter.

Keep in mind you've got a 1kg+ weight attached, better to use a steel plate than weak light aluminium.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Thanks for the advice guys :)

I pose the question, can anyone get me one of the MX-5 club extinguisher/bracket combo's? Would preferably like to get it in the next 2-3 days and can pickup anywhere in Melbourne?
