Cal
I am going to run a RX-7 in Improved Production down hear next year. A mate of mine has offered me a quick front running car with all the right bits at a good price. I know the car has had big dollars spent on it and been looked after by a guy who knows his stuff. I have always been interested in the early model RX-7's in Improved Production and this is an opportunity for me to have a crack in one.
We are thinking of building an NC next year. Those things have so much potential. Once all you guys see what Chris and the boys are doing in their relatively stock NC's you will be amazed. Although Chris does drive very well.
You guys up in QLD are so lucky to have such a great series. I really hope the series in NSW gets up and going and can one day be like the QLD series.
I will be back and you will see me around.
Cheers

McKinnon - runs evolution motorsport. Great guy and a good steerer. He's building a 2F MX5 at the moment that should be a weapon when it hits the track. I spoke to him at Eastern Creek and it is getting close to completion. He was hoping to do the Wakefield event with us in Sept but may not quite get it finished by then.Paul who?
1st time Gerry took the RX7 to Wakefield after Paul had done a few minor changes the thing went something like 2 seconds faster . He's done a fair bit more work on it and the car is very well sorted. It's had a few driveline issues but I have no doubt Brett and Paul will overcome them.
Just so long as Brett doesn't have too much fun in Improved Production.... we want him back with us asap.
You know we all want you too......Just go with the NC Brett, you know you want to

Paul definantly knows his stuff.
He has completely transformed that car. It used to be a prodsports car that ran on slicks and was doing 1.11's at WP. Now it is in Improved production trim an treaded tyres and is doing 1.07's at WP. Shows how much work has gone into the car. i know a lot of $$$ and time has gone into this car to make it competitive. The car has all the right bits and is now set up properly.
Paul has a history with Improved production RX7's so he knows what he's doing with them.
I just want to jump into a competitive front running car again. I will definantly be back in an MX5. You can't beat a 2F MX5 for bang for buck racing. At the moment this is just a 1 year thing i want to have a crack at.
I have always wanted one of these IP RX7's but the cost of building a quick one is ridiculous so i have never done it. This is my chance to have a go in one that is capable of running up the front of the field.
280HP at the back tyres in a car that is 10Kg's lighter than my MX5 sounds like fun. It is only a six round championship and the nationals at the end of the year so hopefully it all goes good and doesn't empty the bank account to much. The only DNF the car has had since Paul has been looking after it was at the last state round where he broke 2 diffs. They later found out there was an issue with the way they were assembled. It now has a new diff. It has proved over the last 12 months to be a reliable car. I definantly wouldn't be buying something that i wasn't certain of.
PS - Wait until you see Paul's 2F MX5 when he rolls it out later in the year. You will all be very impressed.
Cheers
