CT if you are out there, i know you use one of these.

I am thinking of using the Tein EDFC with my Tein Flex. Plenty of times in a qualifying session one of these would have come in handy.

What sort of dollars am i looking at to set this up? Is it hard to do?

Cheers
Brett

From memory they are about $650rrp locally, can be had for about $350 if you hunt around the importers.

Not difficult to setup, provided you have all the bits, unlike I did when I got mine. Took about a year to get an insert made up for two of the the M12 threaded motors, rather than M10, and then to track down the screws required for the strut tops, then I lost a spanner that came with them.

You just need to wire up the controller with ground, switch and constant power, with the latter directly to the battery with decent wire and fused as the unit draws quite a bit of current and poor wiring will prevent the unit using the 3 auto settings, which draw more current as they actuate the motors much quicker and sequentially. All motors plug into the controller via plugs so are easy peasy.

Hey Neil, you spec'ed higher spring rates didn't you? Did the SS's come pre-installed with the higher rated ones or did you have to order additional springs and change them over?

I don't know what you are on about?

I have flex in the car and I did order stiffer springs?

Hey Brett, like the boys said. I think I landed mine direct from the USA for around $420 from an ebay store - NFI who they were but their service was very good. Lots of wires with the controllers but pretty easy to install and very useful in the car. Make sure you get the right controller kit to fit the MX5 teins as there are a few different models. :)

Yeah i reckon these would be real handy. Make changes while you are driving rather than come in to do it.

Just out of curiosity, what do the CAMS regulations say about dynamically adjustable suspension, if anything at all? Taking it to the extreme, you could run adjustable sway bars, ride height, or even active dampers...costs being no object of course.

I would love to build a full house 2B car but don't have the dollars at the moment to do it the way i would like.
2b cars can run all the adjustable in cabin gear. If you ever get the chance have a look at Bob Pearson's 2B RX-7. The thing is a work of art.

So you could of just as easily gone to Mono-flex which have 10/8 springs, and valved to suit this spring rate anyway.....

The spring change is an after thought and feedback from people running them on NB race cars.

What is the point of these question?

Its not like you will be allowed to spend more money on your car or come racing so I'm wondering why the question :?:
