Heal and toe
Is there a way to modify the go pedal so as to attempt heal and toe braking??
As it is i can't get my heal to touch the the pedal. Maybe my size 12 feet are just too big. I dunno.

i have size 13 feet and is impossible to heel and toe in the traditional manor.
in the race car i have a bit of tin plate bolted to the pedal . it overhangs towards the brake and has a rolled edge on it . So i just have to roll my foot a bit to achieve the blip

In the NA6A and NA8A I had to bend the accelerator pedal upwards to make heel and toe a bit easier. The pedal "rod" was quite soft and this easy to do just using my hands.
I haven't had to do this in the SP or any other car I've owned (size 9 feet).

And I thought it was just my NA6 that I could not quite catch the pedal with my foot! I was amazed when I went under the dash at how flimsy that whole pedal assembly is. There's a heap of movement in it.
Did you take it out and put it in a vice as bending it by hand bends the bracket that's bolted to the firewall.

One way to do it is to raise the location of the brake pedal, so it's closer to you and \"higher\" than the accelerator.
I tried to do this on my NA8 but the bracket that holds the brake-light switch will not allow more than 3mm of movement. So don't bother doing it that way.
When you guys say \"I bent the accelerator pedal\" ... uhmmm whilst it's still on the car? if so ... how?
I would think you would be \"bending\" the bracket and not the rod.
Why not attach some sort of extension plate on the accelerator?
I fixed my inability to heel and toe by buying those Puma driving shoes. They are made with really narrow bridges/mid-part of the sole, so the side of your foot hits the accelerator and not the sole.

i just bought an el cheapo metal clip on pedal set from n-power (forum sponsor see link at top of page). the holes line up with the holes in our pedal. so instead of clipping it on (which would not pass scrutineering) it is bolted on. it make the surface area of the accelerator a lot larger, and also moves it forward so it is more level with the brake.
and seeing as you're only using 1 pedal, just buy the auto one, not the manual, and keep the brake pedal as a spare (they are roughly the same size).

(PS i stole this idea off Fattima)

Basically the accelerator pedal was too low to catch with the side of my foot - didn't like to lock up the brakes on my downshifts
As I recall I did it with everything in place - just needed to increase the angle of the bend (so the pedal was "higher" off the floor). I might have used some hand tools to assist.

I can just do it with the standard set up, but its a real bitch (size 11 feet). I use the side of the foot too, but find that it is sometimes a bit of a hit and miss. I think i may try moving the pedal a bit as described, I didn't relise that it was so maluable. By the way, my mums 206 gti has to be the easiest car ever to do it in.

I seem to have no problem
I guess it depends on how you use it, normally when I'm heel-toeing I'm quite hard on the brakes which brings it nearly level with the accelerator making it very easy to blip, but under light braking the accelerator is too low to get to comfortably

I've got a set of these on the brake and accelerator pedals
http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/OMP_Pedal_Sets_1926/OMP_Sandblasted_Pedal_Set_4012.asp
Got mine cheap of e-bay (about $25) The holes in the accelerator pedal match closely the holes in the NA6 pedal, the hole in the pedal just needed to be enlarged slightly to bolt the OMP one on. The brake pedal needs to be drilled.

And same again. However, under light braking, I can still seem to get it reasonably smooth. Depends on how much concentration I'm applying. However, as mentioned, I'm using the side of my foot, not the actual heel. Feet aren't supposed to bend that way
