I went out to the wednesday afternoon sprint session today at QR and managed pb's on both clubman and sprint tracks - probably predictable considering the other time was my first time ever. That said there were a few wet sections and a few people in the know seemed to think that it was 1.5 to 1 sec slower then on a normal day.

For the clubman track i managed a 1:04:8 which was a HUGE improvement from 1:08:9. not quite sure how I was that quick but the time sheet does not lie

For the sprint track i got 1:03:4 which was a .1 sec improvement - not bad considering that the dipper and the cross over were both very slippery. I would say that there would be alteast a second maybe even 2 if the track was not so green as well as dry.

Either way a great day out. I will be at the club track day on the 10th with a new radiator as mine is still overheating with the water wetter in. It did take about 2 laps more to start to get hot but none the less 3/4 to H is not ideal.

Good stuff!

For reference; my old man does 1.05ish clubman and 1.03ish sprint in a stock SP (125wKW) with good rubber... He has been on the black stuff a few times before though; you should be able to get down on the sprint a bit if you can do 1.04 on the clubman.

Can't wait for track day; shot gun NOT being in your group!

one thing really holding the times back I think is the lack of an lsd. the car pushed wide on turn two especially so i am thinking of softening the coilovers a notch or two on the front to see if that helps. Ideally i think i need to get the rear sway bar replaced with an adjustable unit and put the front to hard but all in time. it will be an lsd next for sure!!

I'm amazed at how much difference my LSD made... And I'm not running a bazzillion killerwasps!

Congrats on the new PBs.

The time differences between the two tracks seem strange though. I've seen plenty of times on these tracks and there is always approximately 3 seconds difference between them. Either you went a bit slower on the sprint track or your time for the clubman is not right.

i would say its because of the two cross over sections being very slipery on the sprint track effected the time much more then on the clubman - but we will find out on tuesday when the track is a bit more dry. it may turn out that the clubman time was off a bit either way I cant wait!!
