Bathurst FOSC...what a weekend...

Postby Boyracer » Mon Mar 24, 2008 11:55 am

OK...so the bit from the top of mountain straight to Forest Elbow has to be one of the best bits of race track in the world...

Big weekend...Shreck got a couple of scratches, should buff out....

Luckily it was just panel damage...happened at Hell corner..took the Chase at 180k for the first time just to make sure it was OK...after that back to going flat out...finished the race and the rest of the races with no problem.

unfortunate about regularity's last run on sunday with the oil on the esses which let me only managed a 2:51.7121 on that last run(i promise i would of cracked high 40's otherwise :P)....

maybe next time ill have a mx5 2 fit in :P

Memories are made of this ... :D A weekend I will never forget... :D :D

Flat out in 5th across the top of the mountain ... riding the ripple strip on the outside of Macphillamy (sp?) ... foot slipping off the brake pedal into the Dipper

I was surprised at how well my atmo 1800 could pull up the hill - there is no doubt the MX puts its power down really well, punching well above its weight. What was really pleasing was how, from Reid Park to Skyline, it pulled away from cars I had been mixing with from Hell corner up the hill. But most of them caught up on the run from Skyline to Forrests Elbow :frown:  , where I was something of a pussy - need to work on that bit next year :) .

Just setting a time here, one of the two icon tracks in Australian motorsport, was enough for me, I would have gone home happy at that point. To run hard with a range of cars, each with their own strengths, and swap positions where the opportunities presented themselves, was a buzz like nothing before. To do it all over three days in such a great atmosphere was truly memorable.

The icing on the cake was a 2.59.9391 lap, under the magic 3 minute mark

Congratulations to Russell, who blitzed the regularity times - couldn't have been more than a couple of MXs that were faster in any of the weekend's events!

Big thank you to FOSC for such a wonderful event, and to all the officials, helpers and others who helped make it happen.
I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

Natsoft times:
Russell in Turbo Boys 2.34.2346
Pat in Turbo Girl 2.46.9028.
Turbo Girl broke Power Steering fitting so Patricia has now improved her upper body strength have brusies to prove it.
Both engine ran sweet all weekend, Turbo boy had a relay come loose and cut power to the ECU costered to the pits from top of the mountain on his last lap of the day.
