Cal is his forum name. He has a Supercharged BRG, a 2F laguna blue NA8 race car and a seriously tasty 4 series Audi... It seems he has scored a position on a Mini Race team too. Lucky SOB.

Yeh, he missed out on driving the F3 car of an 'aquaintance' a few weeks ago so it seems he was offered this drive. No doubt Cal will fill us all in on his retrurn.

Only one short shot of him, though I still recorded it for a momento.

I went out and watched the first race on saturday. He put up a good fight with 3 other cars for most of the race. Pulled a couple of good moves too. :)

I just posted this on PF, so figured I'd just copy and paste it here.

Well that was certainly a bit of fun and a great opportunity. There was some kind of paperwork screw up with CAMS on Friday and we weren't able to do the first practice, so going into qualifying on Saturday both Darren and I had only done 9 or 10 laps in the car. They take some getting used to, being FWD with power steering and ABS.

I had a get race with Iain Sherrin in the first race. Trading places a few times. Got a tap in the bum from Poulton, but nothing serious. By race 2 I was getting used to the car and got with 1.5 seconds of the lead car, which I was fairly happy with. The 3rd race yesterday was not as enjoyable, I got pushed off the track twice, had Poulton spin in front of me in T1 at 200km\\h and got blocked pretty badly down the straight.

I'd really love to have a crack at the series, but alas it was to be a one off. In talking to Stokell and others, it would seem there is a fair bit in the setup. Naturally they all have a team of race engineers all over the car checking data ect to improve the car. We didn't even have airjacks working! The only thing we touched all weekend was tyre pressures and the rear wing, which I reckon does nothing anyhow. I've got a few ideas on how we might get the cars handling better, so I'll pass that along to the team for next time. Now where did I leave that $20K lying around for round 2? Was extremely generous of Kevin Miller to offer me the drive this round.

Pity the TV coverage didn't extend past the first 3 because the best racing all weekend was further back. They are also doing a highlights package of round 1 on Channel 7 at 1.30pm on April the 5th. Hopefully might have some of the action covered on that.

Good stuff Cal, I was keeping an eye on Natsoft during the weekend. By the way is that \"the\" Kevin Miller that races the 430?

Paul.
