Any articles about it?

The targa side doesnt have a media release and the CAMs site only has one from today about Rally Tas

Open cars definitely have no problem...

All competitors were sent an email outlining the changes and that AASA would be providing insurance...and competitors could run with a AASA license which is much cheaper than a CAMS one.

Wish we had AASA in NSW...I sent away my CAMS license renewal 4 weeks ago...it cost me $395 and I still don't have it back.

Yes, I got the email yesterday. Savings are pretty huge. $75 for a one year license as opposed to upto $600 (for the International, $130 for National Rally). Cancel medical (another couple of hundred dollars). Then take off the cams insurance levy which is payable when you front up (another $600 for that event) and it comes up to a fair bit.

Plus with 2 separate ARCs next year (CAMS and AASA), it will be interesting to see what eventuates.

Only problem I see now is that I need to do an event soon to keep my license else I am back to doing OLTs. I have already lost my circuit one, didn't want to lose the rally one too. But with more and more events going away from CAMS, this is getting harder to do. And I need the license to register the Charade.

Targa Tas never had an statement about open top cars, that was Rally Tas.
