What is the safest roll cage you can fit to an MX5 ?
You don't see any MX5's with a full roll cage fitted?
Is it possible and where would the side intrusion bars connect to and run from ?
Thanks for your help.

There aren't a lot of street MX5s with full roll cages as they're fairly inconvenient for day to day use.
We do a few at MX5 Mania for race cars - but they're custom built and fitted with as many safety points (side intrusion, etc.) as you like.

I will try to get some pics up tonight or tomorrow..... Little bit busy at the moment getting the car ready to take it to QLD on thursday for Jamboree, and things are falling behind. If I forget to do it I will get some up on Monday when I return.

Well I am 6 foot, and I fit, but not very comfortable, You would need to get sests that sit lower or bolt to the floor directly.

Am I allowed to say that that's one ugly roll bar arrangement? Lots of nice untriangulated bends too. Hmmmm.
I can't see the point in going to the expense and effort if you can't get comfortable in it. Presumably you can't get comfortable because it's intrusive and you need to compromise your position.
So if/when the 'big bang' occurs - what happens?

Your allowed to say it looks ugly, looks alow nicer now, I will take some more photos on the weekend.
You cant really see it when the roof is on and the soft top folds down, while still being a full 6 point cage.
For me, I dont even notice the cage is there and it doesnt interfer with anything, Or at least it didnt until I had 2 welded intrusion bars put in.
When/if the big bang occurs I believe I will be quite safe.

if its cams approved for prod sports and it works with the sfot top it can be as ugly as it wants.. i dont think anyone has managed that before....
though this dosnt look like it has much side clearance...
once its painted, installed and the cars in full trim i think it mighten look too bad though.
nice paint and bonnet work, purple isnt my colour though
