Most laps were 1:30s, on the Queensland Raceway National circuit
best was a 1:29
I had the opportunity to do about 20 laps before the owner wanted it back
the car's best is a 1:27
0 - 100 in about 5 seconds

Hi Rhys
Sounds like you had fun!
That 1.29 would have put you in the middle of the pack on Sundays race.
The fastest 2F's (Ash Low and David Gainer) are doing 1.24's on the national
So when are you building one and coming racing?

It is tempting...
I met Ash Lowe on Saturday.... he has some major talent.
What is your budget, Cal?

Budget is about $20K including car. However, this will include a fairly expensive engine. But I save on wheels\\tyres, seat, harness and a few bits & pieces as I have them already for BRG. I know for a fact the car you drove cost $10K from Sydney, though it could have had a few $$ spent since then, including perhaps a motor.

That is cheaper than I expected. The car I drove has been rebuilt in some way, from what they were saying - not sure to what extent though.
Where do I find the 2F regs? How much power do I need to at least keep up with the field?

Expect to pay around $25,000 to build a strong car that will run with the pack. This will be for car only then you will need to get it to the track with tow car and trailer.
Regs can be found in current CAMS manual that I can lend you.
That car has a new Gary Stewart Engine on board after speaking to Brian yesterday.
You can hire that car and have a run as another option I think its about $880 per race meeting?

An honest 120rwhp would be ideal.
Buy a cheap NA8A like I did for the base and drive it out there in the begining if a trailer and tow car is a problem, like it is for me.

It is too nice to bang up racing.

I concur. Even the one I'm building is a little too nice for it. Too late now.
