Race-car trailer advice

Anyone with experience of this style of trailer... How the heck to you get in and out of the car when loaded? No way a door is opening past those wheels when in the tilted position... Or is there?

Thanks for all the responses everyone!

I forgot to mention i'm in Sydney. There were some very good suggestions made for manufacturers based in QLD and Vic (don't know if that's logistically too hard to transfer to NSW?). The Loadsafe and Tilta both look great, but they're QLD based i think?

10x6 does look compact but is probably a bit too heavy.

Exocet's definitely a good option and correct state.

The car is pulled onto the trailer by the winch.

I could suggest one of these, and I would like to have one

but it violates 2 of your requirements, cost and weight. From memory they are $10k+
The deck can be raised and lowered by hydraulic rams, so you lower the deck to the ground, drive the car on, using the remote raise the deck to max height to allow the car doors to open, then once your are out, lower the deck to normal towing height.

tows behind a 1600kg car fine.
not so cheap tho $4.5k i think it was

You gotta do what you gotta do.

The Liberty (or maybe Outback) would be a manual ideally. There might be some room for negotiation over the type of car, but my need to tow a race car is not deemed more important than her need to find a park in front of Surry Hills cafes. And as Mazmad informed me, dual-cab utes are longer than your average parallel parking space. The joys of inner city living.

I'm liking the look of Tiltas and Loadsafes - a little exy brand new, maybe 2nd hand might be an option...

The auto may very well cope with towing better if clutches are an issue.

A while ago I bought a near new single axle Tilta trailer off eBay for $2200. Very light and easy to manoeuvre.

Thanks for all the feedback on this one everyone.
It's been so helpful that its made me realise that i'm off the mark trying to tow a race car with a Subaru Liberty, which makes the tow-car the real problem now and not the trailer. It's a lot more complicated than I thought. I'm swimming in tow-ball weights, ATM's, GCM's, GVM's, braked, un-braked, petrol, deisel etc. for all the possible models out there. Basically trying to get away with the smallest vehicle that will adequately do the job, on budget and with a happy girlfriend

The search continues...

While i'm asking... can anyone tell me whether the 100kg tow-ball limit on a VW Tiguan would be sufficient for towing a 1500kg dual-axle trailer with an MX5 on it? The Tiguan's have a 2000kg braked towing limit (which is obviously enough), but the European cars seem to have a tiny tow-ball weight compared to their braked towing limit. I gather the standard here is 10% of your total weight making it 150kg, but I just don't understand what the point of that disparity with the European cars is?..

My girlfriend would happily give sign-off on a Tiguan, but the tow-ball limit seems oddly out of place. What could you possibly tow that would weigh 2000kg but only put 100kg on the tow-ball? Are European trailers different?
