Check out Cosworth:

Actually OEM NC front RH guards are only $2 dearer than NB front RH guard's ($222.55 vs $220.13 (RRP)) . Haven't compared the front bar and bonnet pricing. So the NC might be closer to peoples budgets than they think 8) .

Yet another SP bashing thread. *yawn*

So after 5 years, having designed a brand new car from the ground up, Mazda have finally built a better handling car than the NB8B. Well you'd bloody well hope so wouldn't you.

It's still no where near as fast as an SP in a straight line. So Mazda have got a bit more work to do on the NC yet. Maybe in another 3 years just before the ND is released and Mazda cant move NC's out of the show rooms they will give the NC some proper straight line speed to match it's handling.

There's plenty of potential ...

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I don't know what racing series you plan to run in with a duratec engine.... unless there's been one in a production NC somewhere I doubt you'd have anywhere to race.

The NC's are quick, will be interesting to see the limits when IRTB's/CAMs/Higher Comp pistons etc become readily available for them. Without a turbo in the model range though it'll be interesting to see if they don't end up falling short.

I'm sure this discussion already happened with NA people upset with the new NB owners...but it still looks like a lot of people are having fun racing NA's nearly 10 years since they stopped making them.

interesting talk about NB vs NC for track car
just quickly, what are the prices on an import NC in good condition??
also how much harder/easier are they to get around in terms of removing the factory saftey devices (airbags, pretensioners ect) would you bother with the stability control (I understand alot leave ABS on their race cars)?
is there noticibly more room vertically (for cage/head clearance)?
are their any cooling issues (I hear NA and NB racers complaining often)?
how good is the mazda LSD for the NC, are their any alternatives yet?
how different is the actual seating position?
is it easy to get steering wheel boss's for the NC?

I think I can get a few more questions later :P
and no I haven't dríven an NC yet, only normal NB's (naturally aspirated)

if you havent' guess after all that, I'm already saving for a race car 8) give me a year or 2
