... took place at Winton this weekend. Not surprisingly, MX5s were well represented, mostly lightly modified road going cars. Three teams from the MX5 Club Vic and Tas finished in the top 7 out of 42 starting teams and jointly won the best presented teams award. The NSW team had a great result too. It just shows, again, what great cars we own, and how well they perform on a track even when compared with fully race prepared BMWs and Minis.
Although this is an MX5 forum, I'd like to thank Neil and all involved from the Alfa Club for organising the event and all the other volunteers, without whom such things just don't happen.
I'd also like to thank the MX5 Club of Vic and Tas for inviting me especially when they weren't sure BARMY was going to be up to the task (he/she? performed flawlessly).
Overall a fantastic weekend topped off by Mrs BARMY doing a PB of 4:01.18 in the Melb Mara.

Great weekend of motorsport and getting three teams in the top seven was quite an achievement for all involved - drivers, crew and volunteers.
Plus the three Vic teams collectively won the best presented team award. Pretty slick looking and well run operation we had there!
Gotta love that feeling when a Porsche goes flying past you then brakes about 40m before you and you catch up and sit right on their tail through the windy bits. Sure they might disappear on the next straight, but its a lot of fun seeing them look in the mirror and you know they are thinking 'I thought I was past that little MX-5'
