Hi Guys
Can somebody give me the current (2013) heads up on secondary bonnet catches.
I read that on a road going car, a secondary latch is already in place, but this is subject to the pit check on the day.
If I have to fit one, any suggestions on how to manufacture/fit one on a road going car without destroying the bonnet.
Thanks
Secondary Bonnet Latch

Most of the ones I've seen are as simple as a length of wire with a ring on one end, and some form of clip (usually a carabiner thing) on the other.
the ring end it bolted to the radiator support, and the other end is clipped onto the bonnet catch hoop.
Along these lines.

I've also head of a guy who was knocked back at scrutineering and simply took off his belt and used that.

See the last two lines of Schedule B paragraph 1(c). http://docs.cams.com.au/Manual/GeneralRequirements/GQ03_Schedule_A_B.pdf
A standard MX-5 bonnet catch system in working order is fine.
