Re: CAMS Carnival 1st to 4th October 2010
Postponed due to lack of registrations; perhaps until May next year.
The two car clubs I've spoken to about this event didn't have much info at all so I think CAMS needs to re-evaluate their publicity campaign.

They ran one of these in Perth last year. The event ran but it was not advertised at all, I only found out about it after the event which I was a bit gutted about because it was held 10 minutes from my house and Alistair McRae was there giving out passenger rides for a charity donation. Very typical of local motorsport events really, they all cry about having low entry numbers and no spectators yet they never tell anyone an event is on!

Problem is that mainstream advertising costs.
I also know that flyers are sometimes posted out to local clubs to advertise various events.
Some clubs claim the flyer is not received, others claim they received the flyer but didn't think their members would be interested.
Very few club will advertise another clubs (or CAMS) event in their magazine or on their web site.

That event had a $700 price tag for all entrants. hence it having low numbers.deviant wrote:They ran one of these in Perth last year. Cough...Choke...I'm sorry but I thought I heard you say $700...to run around some cones in the car park in front of half a dozen passer bys...
