MX5 Nationals - 2010

Postby mx5racing » Wed Mar 03, 2010 3:25 pm

Hi all,

Just letting you know the MX5 Nationals will be held at Wakefield Park on the weekend of October 30th and 31st 2010.

If the weekend is as much fun as it was at Morgan Park last year then we should all be in for a great time!!

Quite a few of us travelled north last year for the event and we're sure the both the Qld'ers and Victorians will want to attend this year. Last year the Qld'ers got the 2F trophy whilst CT bagged the 2B one. I'm sure the competition will be as fierce as ever!! 8)

More information will be released in the near future.

Be good to catch up with Steve and see Scooter again. I lost count of the number of times I chased it round the various tracks. 8)

We should make Steve the social secretary to organise the nightlife. We might not get much racing done but there'd be some stories to tell

I shall be attacking this in my 2F car. :D Would it be fair to assume there will also be regularity at the event? My dad will enter in my car if there is.

No but you do need to be a member of a club. Obviously I would suggest you join the MX5 Club as it is arguably one of the best around and their Club Track Days are definitely the best ones anywhere!!

Would it be fair to assume there will also be regularity at the event?
At this event there will be only 2 racing classes - 2B and 2F. Regularity will also be available.
Additionally this will be an AASA event and the 2F class will be run under the recently adopted PSCRAQ and Prod Sports regulations. Since being announced support for these changes in both NSW and QLD has been positive.
There will be 2 category eligibility scrutineers (one from NSW and one from QLD) on hand to inspect your car and ensure it meets the rules. If it's found to be outside the regulations you will be unable to participate as a 2F but may be able to compete as a 2B (subject to your car meeting these regulations).

Overall it will be a great weekend of action on the track and we will no doubt see a great turn out.

Just read over the email with the 2F and 2B requirements - I may have missed it, (maybe 2.6 modifications) but couldnt see was in regards to air intake.
