Have not heard that one down here Charlie Brown. As I mentioned earlier, ROPS is only required for club events, if it is called for in the sup regs. You can even run with a lap sash seat belt as well.

As Ive not been in an NA with hardtop can anyone tell me whether it is \"taller\" than the soft top? ie is there more headroom under a hardtop than a softop?

If so by how many mm approx?

I have watch this discussion and I think that there is a major point that EVERYONE has missed.

If you have a standard MX-5 WITHOUT a roll bar you can now run in CAMS Super Sprint events.
What it means is that now I can run the NC in Super Sprints. Someone with a NA or NB without a roll bar can run.

Fit a BD roll bar and not get under the 2” rule and you’re banned.
Work that one out!!!

the 50mm requirement would be waived if a Mazda MX5 is fitted with a factory hardtop, although it is desirable to ensure the helmet is below the rollbar top.

desirable dosnt mean mandatory. and it also dosnt say 50mm bellow.. just not above
