As you would all be aware out FOSC Easter weekend at Bathurst is fast approaching.
Obviously the vast majority of competitors will have never dríven around this awesome circuit at race speed so Mike Hicks, Brian Ferabbee and I thought it might be a good idea to get everyone together and have a bit of a chat. We have proposed to meet in Garage 20 on the afternoon of Thursday, March 20 at around 5.00 for a 5.30 start. Unfortunately this time/place won’t suit everyone but we think this is the best scenario. All MX5 racing and regularity entrants are invited.
Please be aware this is not in any way compulsory nor is it intended to replace anything that FOSC will share with us during the official briefing/s.
The idea is to have a general chat about the circuit and doing laps in a MX5, not about doing the absolute fastest lap.
Two things that I would like to contribute at this stage and whilst there is time to do something should you wish.
Down Conrod our cars reached only 215 km/h and even at this low speed it became unweighted (not loose) in the rear over the 2nd hump. You faster race / regularity guys should seriously consider some sort of aero on the rear to help maintain balance in the car.
If your wheel alignment setting have not be checked it would be good to have them done/reset. Every MX5, including those in regularity, are easily capable of 200 km/h + down Conrod so a set up that is stable at high speeds would be high on my list of priorities.
