Full roll cage

Postby SKYHI » Sun Feb 17, 2008 7:30 pm

Hi guys,

I'm just doing some figures on building a basic 2F car to start with. I want to run a hardtop and full cage for certain reasons and would like to know what sort of money I can expect to pay for a full cage? I'd also appreciate any contacts for guys who have done decent cages in MX5s in the Brisbane / Gold Coast area.

Thanks, Paul.

Hey Paul. Neil just had a fairly serious full cage made for his new turbo race car. There are a couple of shots here: http://www.aus-cartalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=29516 That was $1600 painted. Might be a bit more with removable side intrusion bars which you will need for the street.

Just got your PM. I'm happy to look at that car with you.

Thanks Cal, I'll PM Neil.

Are your side intrusion bars removable?

Thanks for the offer with the car, but I won't impose at this stage. I'm hoping to get the car on a hoist when I check it over but I'll contact you if I have any concerns.

Cheers, Paul.

Yep, just bolt in. I never remove them, but they are blue plated in case I get hassled about it.

I just PM'ed you his email address.

Hi cal, who did a cage for that price? allot seem to want 4+ k for a cage. I have heard a few ppl doing them cheaper, but never seem to be able to find exact names or details for them.
