Sadly, not seeing anything at all there that I want.

Some minor styling changes appear to be a slight improvement in appearance from the ND. It would be interesting to see a profile and rear view.

Too soon, need at least 10 years on the ND before the next generation....

Besides it's not going to be an NE.
NE = Fiat 124
NF = Abarth

Next MX5 will have a Chassis designation of NG. :wink:

Just someone with their crayons.
It is far too soon for a model change. Plus it would likely be a complete refresh.

I like the speculation that a 3 cylinder engine is coming - that would be more characterful than an inline 4. And it will be even lighter!

If/when Mazda replaces the ND and assuming they remain ICE then I reckon it will be a reskin of the ND. The underpinnings of the ND are very competent and it would be cost effective to evolve it rather than replace it (much like Toyota and Subaru have done with the new 86/BRZ).

LOL.
What will having a Chinese/Hongkong/Vietnamese name translate to.

Not too soon for a change - the ND is in my opinion inferior to the NC in practical terms. The idea of cutting weight resulted in a toy car - insufficient room and a silly retractable hard top that is neither one thing or another. I want a bit more in a car than a stylists notepad. This ND seems like a vehicle that has little future- too small, overly styled and maybe no where to go with a practical top that can go from open and closes to suit conditions and passengers choice.

Trying to be objective.
Best MX5s in order:
NA
NB
NC
ND
Gee, how about that.
If I was buying a new sports car today and the above models were all available new, that is the order of my priority.
I don't want a sports car loaded up with a whole bunch of unnecessary modern "improvements". If I wanted all that junk I would buy a 4 door Hyundai.
They have lost me. I will probably never buy another Mazda. Certainly not a 3 cylinder sports car.

Not opposed to buying an NC2 or ND (in 5 years) given aging NAs & NBs, but not about to, & suspect that they would contain unwanted stuff.
