'18 ND USB ports enough power to charge iphone 6s+ ?

Still waiting on delivery of my new ND, but in the meantime I wondered if there was enough power in the USB ports to charge an iphone "plus" model - in my 3, the USB ports don't squirt out enough current - just wondering if any ND users (2017/2018?) have tried it? Otherwise, I'm guessing I'll need to get one of those cigarette lighter-adapters (presumably there's enough power in there)...
Thoughts?

I got plenty of plus Iphones in my family & they seem to have no issues with the USB in the BM Mazda 3

Specs show a standard 12v output, ie: cig socket
And a USB port for streaming music to the stereo.
Most data USBs are 5v 500ma, which should charge a phone fine, slowly, but fine. (basically, same as your computer USB)
Standalone chargers (ie: wall plug in, or cig adapter ones) usually output between 1 and 3 amps
Which will also charge a phone, less slowly.
(That's from my Android phone anyway, Apple tend to like to force you to spend money on their crap, so you'll probably need to check with apple if their phone will charge with a normal USB socket)

Yeah, and I think that might be the issue - I think the charger that came with the phone was a 5W one (or 1A / 1,000mA), so if the USB ports in mx5 can only supply 500mA, then it's not enough to actually charge it.
The iPad chargers are putting out 12W now (2.1A) I think, which can fully charge the iphone in a very short time. I suppose if the USB sockets are only spitting out 500mA, I'll need to use a "car charger" in the cigarette lighter socket - I'm guessing they supply up to 5A, but presumably the charger won't draw that much.

Most of the cig lighter ones seem to be in the 1-3 amp range. It's usually written on them.
The sockets are usually around 15amp max from memory (granted, that's at 12v)
Worth noting, any of the cig adapters that have mutliple USB slots will usually advertise the amp output as a total of the slots, not per slot.
(ie: package saying 5amp charger will likely have 2x2.5amp usb slots, rather than 5amp each)
