What's it worth ?

Postby vfrpete » Sat Aug 05, 2017 1:33 pm

Hi to all,
What's everyone's thought for a selling price for a 2001 Nb in very very good condition, only 117,000ks mechanically perfect, new mags and tyres. Thanks

I reckon you could try $11000 with that elm's and see where that goes. If the vehicles has a proper service record and no crashes etc then something of that order is realistic. If you still have the original wheels someone might want them as well same goes for side reflectors which technically are not legal in clear.

just swing over to carsales and type in 2001 nb mazda mx5. you will get a list of cars up for sale around and including that year. after that go though the thread and then do an evaluation on how your car is to those advertised......got your answer

then you can throw it up here for sale or on gumtree....both for free. after that you pay if your choosing the services of ebay or carsales

years back I was totally against gumtree and ran ads via car or bikesales. lately carsales has sh*t itself and my sales have come via gumtree

praise the lord!...

Well you have the best NB8B colour, Pete, so that's got to be worth thousands more for a start. :)
Not sure about the wheels but I guess the OE were pretty scratched up - most people can't park.
Wheels won't matter for anyone except enthusiasts. You can get them all refurb. for the price of one OE mag.
You can get a bit of an idea from Carsales although that is only the asking price. I would love to know what some cars actually sell for.
$11K sounds about right if it is in good condition. I guess it has one of those ugly 'piston' machined aluminium gear knobs, hey? Take a grand off if it does.

+1
Rare car (only 100 ever built - fewer left on road today) and even rarer "unicorn" colour.

A stock SP is a collector's car so buyers will pay more for it.
A modified SP is "just another modified NB".

The "problem" with collectable cars though is that you need to wait for a buyer sometimes.

ie. Return the car to stock for a better sales price or let the buyer purchase it cheaply and return it to stock for a better sales price.

FYI: If I had the money and space, I'd make an offer for the car under $1,000 of your asking price and leave those wheels with you to sell-off separately since any rim over 16" does not belong on an NB (for driveability and performance reasons).
Don't worry about dying, worry about not living!
