Did a run in the country with my friends from ozrenaultsport.com on some stunning back roads and the little RF acquitted itself rather well against some serious machinery...these Megane RS275s are quick

One of these things is not like the other...

Yep.....it does. Those Meganes look enormous. The little RF kept up through the tight twisting stuff though, and that is definitely Renaultsport country. I was so impressed with the little RF. It was awesome.

Last supersprint at wakefield an RS275 (might even be the one in the picture) with all the track bits and r-specs did a 1.10.4852. The next day at the MX5 track day, a standard ND on RS3's posted an 1.11.8030. So not a whole lot of difference. Just imagine if Maxda offered the equivalent of an RS275 in the MX5, that would be quick!

Well...as a previous owner of a Megane RS250 Cup, I know how damn capable they are...but my little RF felt just as secure on those tight back roads and, being quite a bit smaller, it was easier to place on the narrow roads. The RF's softer suspension made light work of the bumpy surfaces too, maintaining good traction out of every corner and not being thrown off line for a moment. It was quite brilliant.

About my only niggling complaint is that I still feel the ND's steering is too inert. It's very direct and the car certainly goes where you point it, but it tells you very little. The Megane RS with 300kgs more weight and FWD channeling 275hp still manages to provide better steering feedback. It's the only thing on the ND that I think really needs to be addressed.
