If it was in a accident in the front but repaired professionally, say a ND manual with 10k kms, how much cheaper would you want to buy that car for?
Cheers

Depends on the level of damage that was done.

Can you register a written off car? I didn't think repairable written off was a thing anymore? Or are you looking at it as an unregistered track car?

Depends on the state and if prestige.

Once repaired, repairable write offs are worth about 50% of the value of a non-write off.

50% after repair sounds about right but also bear in mind that cars probably get written off because of the high cost of repairs. If you run your own car repair business and have full access to equipment and expertise you might fix a car but even then the owner has to pay the overheads and wages and then not do work that gives a return to the business. For many people buying a damaged car without space, time, facilities and weighing up the value at the end suggests careful thought. However repairing and restoring a collectable or special interest car and having a model that is rare is another thing.

People ask a lot for repaired write offs now. When I was trying to buy a 130i I pointed out to an owner that his car was a repaired write off. He was asking top dollar. He said he'd wait for someone to pay his price, basically saying that he'd wait for a sucker to con.
50% sounds right, if they want close to normal money just walk away.

To clearly few things up, front end damage airbags not deployed. In QLD you can register repairable write of cars after inspection and it was already repaired professionally
I wouldn't mind paying 24k for a ND 2.0, however i think once its listed as a RWO, it will be harder to sell the car on

They still sell for good money. I guess a lot of people don't mind.

Sounds alright but like you say, it's about the resale.

Can't be done in NSW - except if person trying to re-register was already the registered owner, for at least 28 days, when the damage occurred.

So is the OP looking to buy such a car or has a car in that situation?
If I were the owner of the car - minor accident and airbags not deployed...I might consider repairing the car without insurance so that it avoids the write-off register.
If I were to buy, what would I pay? Depends - if I could get hold of pics before repair and during, I might be prepared to pay between 50% and market price.

Remember that NDs also have the extra devices that raise the back edge of the bonnet if they detect an impact with a pedestrian. Apparently thousands of dollars to repair these and the bonnet and the hinges.

Dammm son, i was planing on buying one and fixing everything that i could, get all the parts ready and send it to body shop.
Had i not known about that detect by pedestrian i may have been keen, also i should mention once a car is repairable write off there is no warranty even if its hail.

So is that the car that the seller wants 24k for?
