Hi everyone. This car popped up last night, I really, really like it. Hopefully having a look today. Seem like a good deal to you?

Everyone on here will, of course, say MX-5s are brilliant.

Go drive it, talk to the owner, get a proper impression of the car and its history. If all good so far, maybe negotiate a price you're comfortable with, arrange an inspection, and pay a small holding deposit subject to it passing the inspection.

I'd almost be tempted to make an offer based on the quality of the house and how well the gardens are maintained!

My thoughts as well.

Disregard the house and garden comments- its the car for sale . Price is very good and it does look excellent but check history if its available and do the Security checks etc. As for deposits to hold the car pending rwc etc you can offer a low amount but the buyer can nominate what he wants. A $$20 deposit would not be accepted by me and get a receipt for deposit and amount agreed on . If interested move quickly esp since its now on an "enthusiasts" site.

And of course it's not the house i'm buying :) just helps to know more of the context and that the owner at least is more likely to take care of things and is not a p plater. The Prado/landcruiser thing in the background means they should have the $ at least be able to properly maintain the mazda.

Well said Zac, if it was parked in amongst the mess below you wouldn't have bothered to pick up the 'phone.
Good Luck.
Greg.

With not a lot of meaningful info in the ad, as Davekmoore says carefully inspect & test drive the car, & ask the owner lots of questions to allow you to make as much of an holistic assessment as possible. Btw, looks like it has a mouse trap installed (ie a style bar) - if you buy the car best to remove it.

Take an impartial third party. Looks like a great bargain if the servicing checks out but you already sound convinced.

Some good advice here. Also a killjoy. It takes all sorts, as they say.

Maybe if I left home an hour earlier it would have been :frown:

I just got into my car to head up and have a look this morning, got a text saying it sold. Going through the 5 stages of grieving now haha
