How much did you pay for your ND MX5?

Postby ND-MX5GT2.0 » Sat Sep 12, 2015 8:30 pm

G'day!

Just new the forums here, hoping I can get a good insight into these cars which are very new to me. I've mostly had 4WD/Sedans (Notning Sporty At All).

I just purchased a 2015 ND MAZDA MX5 ROADSTER GT 2.0 Manual in Soul Red with the Tan Leather Interior.

Extras were illiumation welcome lighting & carpet mats with scuff plates

+ the paint protection & leather protection.

Paid $43,300 drive away & will hopefully have it within 3 months.

Will look the same as the photo that I just stole from Google :-)

Welcome ND (a name or nick-name would be helpful)
Congratulations on joining a group of very special people who understand what driving is all about.
A lot of people who own automatic V8 Commodores think they are drivers but we know better.
We look forward to some photos of your car when it arrives.
(what you paid doesn't matter - you made a good decision, that is what counts.)

My name's Simon!

It's one of the best cars I've dríven & seen so far for a decent price. Just like to know what others are paying in regard to there new ND. But your right my decision won't change. I'm getting very inpatient & it's only been a week....

Simon, I have ordered the very same spec/colour/optioned vehicle, but am still awaiting a total price. I paid my deposit in May. My dealer says possibility of late November, but more likely December delivery. Is this the same eta as yours ?

Yeah mate same time, maybe just maybe October but I'd doubt it. Have u test dríven the 1.5L? Any indication of price at all??

Simon, you have paid you money, you will get the car. It's a bit late to be concerned about how much it was but if you need some comforting my 2009 NC2 was a kick in the arse under $53,000.
Just enjoy it!
Greg.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

Not concerned about it at all & not to need any contorting, I'm honestly very happy & excited to be honest with the car & the price.

Would just be interesting to see what other dealers are doing them at. They said as they are a new vechicle there'd be hardly any discounts from Mazda Australia.

Thanks

Simon

No indication of price, apart from the Mazda Australia website, which has driveaway prices for each state. Yes, I have test dríven a 1.5 litre manual GT. Was a fantastic drive. The 2.0 litre should have a bit more torque and slightly less need to rev out to get the performance. More leisurely on the highway too. I have emailed my dealer quoting your "discount" price, and asking for his price. Also asking for confirmation that they have actually ordered mine. Not much communication from my dealer. Emails seem to go into a black hole, but they are very friendly when I drop in to the dealership.

When the Dealer says it's in production, ask for the name of the ship once it's off the line - Toyota has that available so you can track you order from date of order right thru to delivery - fun and sure passes the time!

if the cars are selling then you pay the list price. If they are not then the dealer deals and if they are feeling generous they add something to the deal which you will forget about shortly after its bought. Giving deals begets more deals and you would have to think thats not what Mazda wants at the launch period. NCs are gone now but it was common knowledge that they were sold well under list price and the last hew years sales were virtually dead.- that does not apply to ND. Also what people tell you they pay is often not what they do pay- we all want to look like Donald Trump doing a deal. Enjoy your car and don't fixate on tracking ships a you have no control .

Just wondering how come you don't have a contract with your pricing and at least an estimated delivery date?

For the record, the 2.0 has 33% more torque.

A friend of mine has ordered/paid deposit on a 2.0 ND and knows exactly what it is going to cost him and exactly the value of his trade-in.

Yup, that would be more normal.

Simon. Is the $43,300 the driveaway price with or without the extras ? That is the typical driveaway price from the Mazda Aust website (depending on your State) without extras. If you got those extras thrown in, then you havedefinitely got a discount. My price with the same extras, (plus the strut tower bar but no paint or leather protection) is $45,400. The strut tower bar is $1039+GST.

Finally got my dealer to respond. First two salesmen have left, and a third guy decided to respond to my Emails. Hadn't entered me in their system, or ordered my car. Had to prove that I had paid my deposit in May and scan and send the paperwork raised then. They finally raised the paperwork with actual prices, but with today's date. Wondering if my May order/deposit is lower down the list than then "many" orders placed in August/September.
