Hi guys, does anyone have any recommendations for a zinc plater in melbourne who can clean and plate all my bolts? What would the price be approx?

Thanks!

I think the simplest option would be to have a look at the yellow pages and find one nearby and give them a call.

Pricing on these sort of things is usually pretty specific, so unless somebody has had almost exactly the same job done they can't really give an accurate price (the workshop however, will know what they charge)

I don;t like the chances of anywhere being open this time of year though.

small hardware items will go through a chemical strip. Bolts nuts and small items are also normally barrel plated and go in with other items. Best bet is check with a few platers and see what items they do and ask for a recommendation for the finish you require. Many OEM parts are zinc and yellow / gold passivated and have good performance. Zinc and clear might look better but often not so good for salt spray. If a finish is black then it may be black zinc or a different higher performance product commonly used at OEM level. Long winded but it may well be easier and cheaper to replace with new items. No one here can tell you how much plating will cost - only the plater knows the way they want to cost a small job or wether they will do it at all.

Get quotes from a few plating shops as they will all be different
Years ago my brother had a plating and polishing shop and some times he would get a job for lots of fiddely bits.
It was cheaper and easier to farm it out to other shops and make a small handleing fee, probably works the same today
