Hi folks. Does anyone have this problem? I am 6'4 and fit pretty well in my 2000nb. Trouble is that my right foot has to be raised somewhat so as to be able to press the excellorator. This is an ankle bend that eventually has me looking for a different foot position.
Is there a different pedal position anyone has adopted? Perhaps an aftermarket sollution? There is plenty of room beneath all the pedals for a variation it appears?? Thanks . Great site.

I'm also interested in this, Only 6'1 but have long legs and need to raise my right knee slightly off the seat to fit. Would be great if the peddles could be moved an inch or two.

Sparco Sprint V seat, mounted straight to the factory rails.

Lowers your bum, lets you move the seat further back too. Angle of your legs ends up being better for the pedals under the dash.

Problem with the Sprint is, it's heavy and uncomfortable.

I have to disagree.. No problem with comfort for me and heavy.... I guess that is a relative thing.

I guess try it and see if you like it.

I'd agree with beavis, after trying a fiberglass sparco the sprint is heavy and uncomfortable.

More comfortable then the stock na seat though...

Yes. Most of the velos have ADR testing. After that depends on your engineer

So it's about changing the seat rather than tbe pedals??

I am 6' 1" with long legs and have the same problem in my NB8A.

I have a Sparco Sprint V which is great on the track, but a pain in the ass (literally) on the road over any distance, so is not a solution.
I have tried a couple of seats, but not a radical foamectomy which may help the driving position, but have not found a seat set-up that gives a comfortable seating position and also provides a solution to the leg/kee angle problem.

The angle of the throttle pedal in a NB seems to be such that my knee locks up after about an hours touring (worn out knee). It is much worse on a steady cruise than on a spirited run with on/off the throttle to vary the knee angle. Foot flat to the floor is comfortable, but may annoy the constabulary a little.

I am also exploring ways to find a way to move the throttle closer to the floor in an attempt to improve the leg/knee angle, but have not come up with a workable solution that keeps a decent throttle / brake relationship and throttle travel.

If anyone has actually played with the throttle position/angle it would be good to hear.

The best seating position I have found is bolting a Velo Milano directly to the floor. Use the bottom mount, not side mount seat. Just found out there are 2 different ones. Then get a deep dish steering wheel, and a quick release, or extender. The wheel will be about 100mm back from Oem. (makes using the indicator a lot harder)
Gets the wheel out of your knees too, even with Oem seat.
And I even removed the steering column bolts, put in longer ones with spacers to lower the column. You wouldn't dream of lowering the column with standard steering wheel and seat. You end up sitting as low, and far back as possible.

I do a lot of long (8hr+) trips in mine. An aftermarket AP60 cruise control has spared me all that discomfort and cramping in the right foot.

I also have a Sparco Sprint V seat bolted to the floor. It's comfortable enough for touring with just a slab of sheepskin to sit on. These seats fit some people and don't fit others. You need to try one yourself.

Yes perhaps cruise control is part of the answer?? The cruise control you mentioned is available from where? And for what cost? Is it something one can install yourself or does it have to be professionally fitted. Thanks. Simie

I use a 40mm boss extender and find I have to slouch forward to reach the indicators.

I do want to change the seats but will be looking at alternatives to the sparco sprint v.

Does lowering the steering column mean that the wheel blocks the instrument panel?

The best mod I ever did for my mx5 comfort wise is remove the arm rest and fit a bride digo on super low rails now it feels like I'm driving a corolla .. Comfort wise
