Hi all,
I've noticed when the roof is off my hair gets blown around and annoys me.
What can people recommend wearing? I have tried a cap but teh brim catches the wind and blows it off.

Geez mate ... wish I had that problem - been a long time since I could complain about hair blowing around

but I wear a cap or at times a wide brim hat and no problem apart from the occasional truck passing in the opposite direction ... I also find drivers window down, passenger window up is best ....

Tighter cap?
Cap on a string tied to a roll bar/wind blocker/whatever happens to be there?

I have found that you can use more hair product and adding hairspray is very important and will hold up to 70ks.
i have found priceline to offer the best value.

Rubber bands and/or cable ties work well to keep hats on.

Nic,
I purchased an inexpensive hat (from a 100 yen shop) pushed and pulled it into shape. It stays on my head at all speeds.

Tightening a cap too much can end giving some people a headache. Light fishing line can work well.

If sunburn in the scalp or windswept hair are your issues, then all hats are going to have problems to some degree. You'd be better to get something streamlined, which isn't affected by wind at all. Something like this would be ideal;

Unlike a closed-face motorbike helmet, you can still easily eat and drink with this on!

You can put a simple clip and lanyard on caps though I have never has a problem though a wide brimmed hat is a must with a chin strap. A really good choice for protection but not a lot of style is a Legionairres cap which are cheap and functional and comfortable. The cap backwards was used way back in the 1920 and 30's when open top driving was a raw adventure.

Worn all sorts of hats in MX5s and other convertibles. Always made sure they were a reasonable fit. Never lost one, even with a peak facing forwards, and never felt one even trying to come loose either. Mind you I'm only 5ft 9ins and the driver's seat has had a foamectomy. It might be different for a tall driver with a standard seat.

I don't think I could wear a legionnaires hat, it's the hat of choice for primary schools all over the country.
