Do you wave at other MX5s?

I always wave/pop up me eyes to other MX-5 owners I see on the street (maybe once per day), but only get like 1/10 wave back.
Certainly when I had my first one five years ago the camaraderie was a lot better!
Here's to bringing back friendly MX-5 culture, pop up/wave/say hi to each other people! We are kindred spirits on the road united by our passion for MX5s!
NA, NB or NC owner, we are all one:)

Always wave - response rate from the NA/NBs is definitely higher.

Always pop light because, NA. Otherwise I would usually give a salute or thumbs. It always turns awkward when I try wave at NC's...

I always wave - even this morning in my silver NA I met another coming up the same street - totally ignorant or blind he looked the other way! Most MX5's will wave back
I wave at 86/BRZ's when in my 86 and 75-80% of the time get a wave back!
Leaving coffee this morning I was RBT breath tested, nice guys and as I left I got a friendly wave from them

Yeah, it's much easier to see if you have a gun on the passenger seat!

If i'm in the NC...Nope cause the thing is always embarrassingly filthy dirty.
In the SP i'll wave at other SP,SE's, Cars with a forum/ sponsor logo or anyone that i think that may belong in the Nakama F/B group.
9 times out of 10 i don't usually see any other roadsters at the times that i'm out and about.

I usually wave, about a 50% response rate. Sometimes the line of sight between cars isn't great, ie passing at an intersection or turning a corner. I think the type of MX-5 and it's condition/modification makes a difference. For some people it's just a car, they have no idea of the community.

i usually wave 90% response if on a mountain cruise or similar, even non MX5 flip tops.
20% response around town.
the extra traffic and drivers with other things on their minds.

Cruising back up the M1 this morning after coffee I merged and noticed an NB8B coming up in the centre lane, I think you call it crystal blue, smile and waves exchanged with 396-SIP - beautful SP
I headed for Bribie as he headed towards Woodford-Kilcoy
As for traffic northbound - absolutely snails pace, G20 public holiday and half Brisbane headed for the Sunshine Coast and further

I was on my way to Fernvale ( the long way ) for a pie.
I will get to one of your coffee meets one day Roger.
Your NA looked mighty fine cruising along.

People rarely wave to me dispite being bright and clearly modified. I've noticed that since it sounds like a vacuum cleaner now I've had so many compliments/smiles/looks from other cars. One dude even went so far as winding down his window and saying it looks and sounds impressive!

Oh man! I finally saw the ONE SP I always wanted to see! I was on my way back from a coffee [alone again, naturally!] and always like to merge there and have the revs up around 6000 to keep it working hard when I saw you in the rearview! Yeah, it's a pleasure to drive along that piece of road and the car sits fine
That's a long way for a pie!! Traffic was terrible around the Bribie exit!
Hope to see you at Automotive Plus Open Day on the 22nd
