[Canberra] Does anyone have a spare set of rims for Rego?

Hi Everyone, bit of a newbie here, sorry if this is in the wrong spot. My wife and I bought a na6 mx5 on the weekend from a dapto dealer. The car had a mx5 nsw club sticker on it :) so thats good to know. Anyway the car has 17 inch rims on it and I'm not entirely sure they will pass a roadworthy (might be too big?) I was wondering if anyon in the act had a spare set of 14 to 16 inch rims that I could use to pass the roadworthy if required?

The car came with the rims and we may look at downsizing to 16's as the ride is really hard. I just thought I'd ask here. I will post some pictures when I get a chance. Also out of interest does anyone know the history of the car?

You should need them, if the inspection station knows the rules. I have some too (how many sets would you like? ), but Dave is probably more convenient.

Don't forget, you have both a rim width restriction and a diameter restriction.

Yeah thats what I thought, it's usually 2 inches over stock and if the NA6 came with 14's then it might need them. Plus the ride with them is as hard as a rock. lol.

Judging by the content of the posts in this thread. Some of the posters need to learn the rules.

ACT rules are usually different to NSW. I think the place to look is http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/ ... _ncop.aspx.

I have a set of stock NB8A rims in Belconnen you are welcome to borrow (Peter 0408 635 650 ).

I doubt that they will let 17"s through on an NA6.

What size tyre? Rim size is irrelivent.

The idea of a rwc is that a car is actually meeting the requirements stipulated and borrowing another set of wheels is not right. Rules must be different in ACT because in Vic it's next to impossible to buy a vehicle without a rwc and expect ownership to be transferred.

Well id rather not run around over two weeks trying to find rims we like. This would be a temporary thing

Turns out the car failed (rolling diameter 18mm too big) In anycase the tyres are in a bit worse condition that I thought (age cracks) So we decided to get some na6 rims for the time being from carco here. As we'd rather not drive around on crud tyres and rims while we search for some decent set of rims and tyres.

Thanks for all the offers though

Not the ideal situation but certainly not the worst. Nicely done.
