Hi,

I have a NA6 MX5.
I purchase a aftermarket exhaust manifold, its stamped B6 on the JASMA plate. The exhaust manifold is too short and won't reach the stock catalytic converter?
The seller said this was for NA6 mx5 N6 motor.

What can i do??

I guess you know the jasma plate is not the manufacturer. It refers to the manufacturer being a member of the japanese aftermarket parts association.The fact it has b6 stamped on the plate is unusual. If your extractor has a flange on the end it should fit if no flange it has probably been cut to remove it. Have you lined the exhaust manifold which was on the car and the new manifold to see if one is shorter? The only thing to do is get an exhaust shop to lengthen the pipe.

Easy job for an exhaust shop.

Hey yep i know, but in little text it stats b6. I think on all Jasma plate it stats what mother the manifold is for.
Yep the manifold side lines up perfectly, but where the manifold flange meets the cat, its about 30cm too short ?? So confused.

How much would it cost to get my cat extended in the exhaust shop? Also do i need to bring in the whole car to do everything or do i just remove cat and get it extended?
Might as well sell it at this point too much trouble. >.>

I won't be able to drive the car with the new one in. So i would have to install the old one back in for now.

I have seen some JDM branded headers that are two piece like this one here

So you might be missing the end part which would explain why it's too short.

i would just get a small section added to your current exhaust piping to bring the cat closer to you new headers.

install the headers yourself before you go to the exhaust shop to have it done. just will be a loud drive to the shop. much quieter on the way home.

^^^ this...... Any local exhaust shop will be able to weld a piece of pipe in, it's what they do all day .....

Also how much would it cost to have a piece wielded to the Cat to fit the header?

1. I wouldn't do it all the time. The sounds is loud but amazing. Very race car.
2. $50-$100, what eariler posters have estimated.
