Hoping to pick some brains, in the MX5 community...
My NB SE came to me with a MX5+ Highboy rollbar, great roll bar, appeared very well made, but sold it on as it stopped my seats travelling fully back (I need every click back, as at 6f2" I consider myself to be a just fit)..
Fitted BD rollbar I had in a NA, this cleared the seats I had in the NA, but the SE seats may be a little taller as the top rest on the bar and stops them going back to where I need them to be.
Has anyone looked at this same issue and found a solution? I considered taking the seat to upholsterer for a mod, but ultimately I think I will be selling the BD and either replacing it with something else, or going nobar... I am guessing the option of changing seats may sidestep this issue, but it holds little appeal
HELP!
Thanks
Shane

I don't have direct experience with it, but I believe the MX-5 Plus Single or Twin Hoop Bars allow more room.
I had the B&D in my NA and found with the NA seats it was fine (though my head felt exposed to the cross bar), but once I fitted some NB8B seats they did sit against the bar.

I doubt the bar sits above the top of your head anyway

I have the MX5+ twin hoop in my SE and have the full range of travel with my seats.

As far as I know it's only the tall-boy MX5+ bar that restricts seat movement, the two short versions and the twin hoop are fine.
Anyone out there with an AGI rollbar should be able to comment on how their's work (I think Emily_MX5) will be putting one in her SE, if she hasn't already).

I know you said you weren't into swapping your seats, but I found the same thing until I did - I just didn't fit in the car with the tall roll bar and stock seats.
Mine is an NB8B, got the MX-5+ tall roll bar and some Sparco Sprint V's. I'm not quite as tall (only six foot, and I'm pretty skinny), but I fit with room to spare. A mate of mine is 6 foot three though, fits fine.

+1 on swapping the seats out. Im your height and don't fit in my SE with the stock seat. I swapped the stock one out within 24 hours of getting mine! I've got a BD bar with a sprint V on a PCI rail which sits be very very low and I love it. Previously to that, I had a bride fixed back on a bride rail which was very nice. Sat me lower and allowed the seat to go back far enough to be comfy with the BD bar. One key thing with a bride rial though is that the seat belt bolt needs to be changed with a different bolt with a lower profile head. I believe the one I used was from an old Golf.
