Where are all the MX5s - are they hiding from the weather ?

I have just done a trip from Canberra to Perth in a Falcon with van ( yes I know, I hate myself on the highway too) and have done 5,000 km so far through NSW, Victoria, SA and WA to Freemantle, stopping at most museums, etc on the way.

In the trip so far I have seen only four MX5s, all NCs - two of them in Freemantle. I am very surprised as I expected to see quite a few MX5s out and about, particularly in country Victoria and SA.

Where are all the other MX5s - are they all hiding away from the winter weather - I don't blame them as it hasn't been nice !!!!

I also visited the Birdwood car museum (no MX5), York car museum (no MX5) and the York car show (the only Mazdas were RX7s and a Cosmo). I usually walk around in my MX5 jacket, but have only met RX7 owners and some-one looking for parts for a rare 3 wheel baby mazda.

It has been a fascinating trip so far and it is a great country to tour, but more preferably in the warmer months - I am in Perth for a wedding so couldn't avoid the cooler climes.

Looking forward to trying a Little Creatures Pale Ale from the brewery.

Durring my drive from Melbourne to Brisbane last month, I only saw 1 MX-5 throughout all of Victoria and NSW. Once I hit Queensland I saw several more. Must be the weather!

Birdwood used to have the 200000th MX5 (A red NA), I wonder what happened to it.

I am attending a wedding at Claremont on Saturday, then some family gathering on Sunday.

What are the details of the car show please and I will try to make a visit in between family commitments ?

Perhaps the secret issue that some neglect to acknowledge is the Dutch Oven Effect.

The elements:

1. Small cabin
2. Condensation
3. "Other" gases

I managed a very quick walk through the Fremantle Custom cars and Coffee this morning.

A very good display with lots of very nice vehicles, including the four nice MX5s. I was surprised at how many cars and the big variety that were there. Shame I didn't have more time for a longer look, but family commitments !!!

I liked the supercharger setup in the NA with the angel headlights.

Thank for the tip.

Now to head down south and reverse the drive, hopefully with a tail-wind.
