Here's a heads up. Aldi have air tools on sale today. Drills, ratchets, die grinders, impact wrench. I only got the impact wrench - $40. Oh, and fire extinguishers $15.

Handy that. I've had an Aldi rattle gun and air chisel. Based on my experience withthem that would mean that you could get to replace them up to 75 times in 3 years. :D

Tried an Aldi jack. Lifted the car 3 times and blew a seal.
Tried a Aldi angle grinder, (What can I say, It was cheap).
Burned out within a month.
I have a Ingersoll-Rand 1/2 Inch Drive Air wrench.
has lasted 20 years plus, (6 Days a week I work Guys).
Will out muscle every 3/4 drive I have seen.
Aldi tools, JUNK!
Buy Good tools. They will last you a lifetime.
Now a days, Look for old tools from retired Mechanics.
As my Apprentice's over the last few years have found it almost impossible to get good quality new tools at any price.

I don't think they're intended for trade use

Generally. these days I dotn have a lot of time for air tools, good ones cost as much as good electric tools, and electric rattle guns are just so amazingly convenient, a 3/8th rattle gun will do up and undo wheels with ease and fit in under your inlet manifold, down to your engine mounts and everything, very compact and powerful and battery life is fantastic.

You have to be careful with tools now, even the well known brands seem to be headed downhill. A couple of years ago I bought a half inch drive Kincrome torque wrench. After 2 bolts the click mechanism failed, and I sheared through a high tensile brake caliper bolt. Checked the packaging and realised it only had a 12 month warranty. Very disappointed that a reasonably high quality brand had dropped so far as to sell tools they don't trust to last more than a year. The guy who took the return told me they were supposed to give me a replacement only, but he knew the next one would fail the same way, and just gave my money back instead.

Just to clear this up a bit.
The small floor jack I bought for home use. To lift my Sports car.
It sat in the box for many months before I finally needed it.
Upon opening the box and putting it to use, It didn't last one day before it blew a seal and leaked oil all over the floor.
I managed to get the job done that day by refilling the oil a couple times. Then it hit the bin. It was made in China.
The angle grinder I did take to work. I am a Motorcycle Mechanic. So it's not like it was in constant use.
None the less it didn't last long before the motor went up in smoke. It was made in China.
Unlike Dann, I do like my air tools. But only use them to remove things. with but very few exceptions.
I still like to torque most every bolt by hand.
