FINALLY I got an mx5

Postby Zabinskii » Wed Apr 09, 2014 12:51 pm

Hey guys, just put down a deposit for my 1990 na6.

Interior isn't the best neither is the exterior, but the engine was recently swapped to the long nose 1.6 engine,

Has ugly rims but only cost me 2,000 so I'm not complaining, comes with aftermarket exhaust and racing beat front bar. Lowered springs and a few other things. I'll update with photos this weekend :)

Grats. Never dríven an NA myself, but you don't buy a 2 seat japanese shoebox for creature comforts and fancy interiors, it's all about the drive.

Here are some photos as it stands, a little dent which I'll just pull out with my dent puller and then I'll get onto the smaller stuf like rims bumpers and interior :)

This won't be the fastest build seeing as I'm currently in uni but it'll slowly progress ;)

Front bumper is stock, that's only a cover on the lower half.
There will be screws in the wheel arches, hopefully the paint underneath is in good condition.

Yeah 100% sure, that's how the racing beat half-noses work.
I had one on my car, was awesome to take it off to reveal oem bumper haha

All aesthetic preferences aside, those rims look like they weigh 15kg each.
Great buy though, not a whole lot of car can be purchased for $2k unless Hyundai Getz is your thing, or you come across a deal like this!

If it runs OK it's hard to see how it isn't a great deal for $2K.
Looks reasonable cosmetically and wheels are, well, OK I guess. There'd be any number of cheap wheels out there as alternatives.
Should be a lot of fun.
