Self-servicing, borrow a jack?

No, not that kind of self-service and jack...

Took my car to Phillip Island sprints on Sunday so I think I'll whack some fresh oil in it.
I have the Haynes manual and the Mazda service manual, any other things particular to the 5 that I should watch out for?

I don't have a jack or stands at the moment, would any one in Melb be kind enough to let me borrow theirs for a w/e morning for a six pack and some good karma?

You can buy a trolley jack for the price of a decent six-pack.
Just go to Supercheap/Bursons/AUtobarn/Repco and there should be something cheapish.

I had a yellow chinese jack, no brand name at all, just one single Australian Standards sticker (which may have been fake)
It served me well for about 6 years, and multiple cars.

Jack stands, can be had for about $50 a pair.

Cheers Mate,
You may find that you will need some timber blocks to drive onto, lower profile jacks are considerably more expensive. Take care as to where you place the jack, the centre of the diff is OK as is the front cross member, but a lot of under the front of the car looks the same. If in doubt ask someone.
Greg.
