so someone hit my SE yesterday

one more pic

I had it for 2 freaking weeks -.- was parked on the side of the road and some girl just rammed into it, says she was tired and fell asleep, but it was 2pm on a saturday and I had a feeling she was on her phone.

She is with GIO insurance, do you guys reckon it will go write off? I hope it does to be honest, cannot be bothered with the hassle of going in out of the panel beaters when they do a crappy job at it.

How much do you reckon I will get paid out and how do they evaluate these cars? but at least i'll get a new pair of rims if they do decide to repair it since it hit the gutter pretty bad

Bad luck mate! From the pic looks like she's still on the phone! I'm currently having hassles with paint match so I know what you'll be going thru. At least you've not had it long enough to become attached.

Depends on the amnount of damage but sorry to see when you were parked and minding your own business!

Heading home yesterday and in 100kph zone, car in front was doing 60, soon as I came to the dual lanes there the bitch was texting!! I tell ya, they JUST DON'T GET IT!!!

Start disqualifying them for 18-24 months and it might get thru to a few

Hope all goes well

And i think you should be happy if it is.
I hate repaired cars after damage like that.

What a Clown of a driver.

I had someone do something similar to me and their first response was, "Why would you drive a car so small no one can see it"!!!!!!

My son and I were witnesses to an accident a couple months ago. Car in front of us hit a young boy who went straight across the road on a scooter directly in front of the car. First thing the police did when they arrived was ask for the driver's mobile and checked the log for times of usage against the time of the accident ....

That is a right off. Frame, suspension and wheel looks damaged also. Since the car is 2 weeks old, they'll most likely offer the price you paid for it on the invoice/reciept. If they low ball you fight.

She'll be in a world of pain soon. If she attempts to falling asleep at the wheel. She is stuffed. He insurance most likely wont pay for her car to be fix/replaced. Yours will be as a thrid party to her policy. And the courts will also hit her with driving without due car and attention.

Amd she's killed 2 cars ($20K+ bill) and got a dangerous driving record to her name. She'll be paying top dollar for car insurance for the next 5 years.

I called GIO and asked them how they evaluate cars, they said some website called glasses guide. I paid the $17.50 to get it valued and it gave me $17,500. If i get that I'll be happy since I picked it up for 16k (plus $450 stamp duty)

Just curious are you insured?

I'd be ringing up your own insurance company and notifying them of what's happen so they can start chasing

I wasn't there. I'm not the driver. I'm not the insurer. I'm not the police.

Think about it for a second, then decide if you already know the answer or not to your question.

Sorry, every single thing you wrote here is incorrect and is in no way based on fact. It isn't even worth correcting

So you think the insurance company will just fix her car no questions asked after admitting falling asleep??? Im not saying they will, just a possability. I did say 'most likely' to denying her claim.

And the police wont put in the accident report that she admitted to falling alseep, and she wont have a day in court? And as I said also, I ain't the policeperson, so I don't know what will go into the accident report.

I'm not sure what level of education everyone has that uses this forum, but surely anyone reading can decide what it fact, opinion and/or hearsay from the way posts are typed.

It's one possible outcome that may happen. And there are many possible outcomes that may arrise from this point onwards.

Which means you'll need to chase her up as a 3rd party on her insurance company. If you were insured, then yours would just pay out and chase hers for the money.

There are also comanies out there that do this sort of stuff for you. but I'm sure they'll be lawyers fees attached to said process.

Since you are going up against her insurer now, they may try to lowball you as they ain't dealing with another insurance company rep.

Good luck with it all. Hopefully it is painless as possible.
