Garage vary lip repair.

Postby Rasputin » Sun Nov 24, 2013 5:00 pm

Have tried plastic welding using both air plastic welder and a soldering iron. The plastic just smokes up and turns very brittle. Does not melt.

What have others done to fix their lips?

I was thinking araldite + fibreglass reinforcement across the cracks both inside and outside.

Any other ideas?

I'd just use some chopped strands of fibre glass, put some filler on, sand it, paint it.

I will be using csm on this internal side after the repair is made. Going to try and get my hands on one of these plastic welding rod devices.

Cheers!
