Postby Jash » Thu Oct 17, 2013 5:56 pm

MX5 Humans,
Tried searching for this to no avail.
Pretty sure my Jap NA6 has neither, which models came with them?
Many Thanks,
Jeff

All came with aluminium bonnet, none came with aluminium boot from factory as far as I'm aware

Magnet will tell you what you've got.

What's with the mx5 humans thing? Just a way around saying hi guys / girls?

There is a limited edition in Japan that had a alloy boot as well, you can get a after market steel bonnet that is way cheaper and heavier than the original alloy bonnet.
NC Roadie, NC Racey, ND Racey….and a 30AE

Plus several others in the bone yard...

Thanks for the info guys, and yes I don't mean to assume that everyone in here is a dude.
Limited edition explains the alloy boot costs that I've seen...

The aluminum boot lid you're talking about came off a M2 1028 model with a run of 300 in Japan

This is how it compares to a standard NA bootlid and its about half the weight too.

Hi mxers I have an imported 1990 NA Eunos Roadster. Both bonnett and boot are standard aluminium. Thay certainly did things a bit different with their home market. Cheers Mike

Are you really really sure? Was there anything non standard on the car when it got imported?

My thoughts too. The 1028 seems to be the only NA that got a factory aluminum boot. Easy enough to confirm. It should only weigh 3.5 kg

A number of people have thought that as it did get wrongly mentioned on various MX5 forums, but it's not usually the case.

Alloy Bonnet, Steel Boot on mine. Man I love that M2 Boot, but for 1500 bucks for a secondhandy I reckon I'd go carbon and pocket the difference.
