Hi everyone,

I've received news that Mikey (Uncle Arthur) has passed away due to complications after surgery to remove a brain tumour. :(

There's a funeral in Brisbane on Tuesday morning, please send me a PM if you would like the details.

Mikey always had a positive & fun attitude and was incredibly fit, he would kick my ass on the pushbike! He volunteered his house to use for "dodgy days" and was keen to give anyone a hand.

Sorry I'm not very good at this kind of post... I just knew him as a really decent bloke.

Cheers guys

R.I.P Mikey :-(

One of the first people I met in 2007 when I first got into roadsters.
Always ready to lend a hand and tell a tale or two...
A genuine person that will be sorely missed..

That is horrible.

He was just posting a week or so ago.
Must be a terrible shock to family and friends.

He will be missed.
I believe he was one of the "Original Car-Talk Crew"

Condolences to all.

Michael's passing leaves a great hole in our lives, The last week or so I've been reading some of his old post's on here, my facebook feed hasn't been the same, missing the witty comments now and then.

I spoke to Michael on monday last week, he was confidient of beating this, if i had to name someone who i thought could beat something like this I'd say that he could do it, with only a very short time knowing your opponent I guess it was not to be.

In the past 13 or so years we've shared new years eve's, engagments, weddings, birthdays, not to mention building our cars and enjoying them!

Recently some close friends and myself were reminicing, you don't realise how much someones in your life till there not there anymore, my wife and I only caught up with michael and Jen just before xmas, little did we know it would be the last time.

I'm sure your settling into your new ride and going through the aftermarket parts catalog looking for bling!

We miss you mate and its not going to be the same with out you

Thoughts are with Michael's wife Jen, family and friends.
For the difficult road ahead

Ryno.

Oh! very sad news, rest in peace Mike, Godspeed to you buddy.
I had absolutely no idea he has a chronic condition, let alone a tumour!
He was the first person who made me feel welcome to the MX-5 community.
Can't be elonquent at this time but to say, this sucks.

Steampunk, it wasn't chronic, only discovered after visiting the doctors about a headache.
The doctor said it had been growing for some time.
A reminder to us all if somethings not right get it checked.

The irony of it all is his last post was is in this thread http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=56124&p=707972&hilit=uncle#p707972

I could think of no more of an apt thread title.

A dodgy day will never ever be quite as dodgy without the Uncle.

He will be missed by many.

Very sad news indeed! I had the very great pleasure of attending a GC Dodgy Day with Mikey years ago, he was a top bloke and will be sorely missed by his friends. My condolences to all.
